I humbly owe everything
to God. He gives me
peace, comfort, courage,
and strength when my own
heart is lacking.
I thank God for His
love, daily blessings,
the gift of my life, and
especially the promise
of eternity.

“Thou
wilt keep him in perfect
peace whose mind is
stayed on thee; because
he trusteth in thee.”
Isaiah 26:3

I lovingly acknowledge
my family. I am blessed
to share my life with
those who freely give
love, joy, and
acceptance. I
embrace the miracles of
my children, three of my
greatest blessings in
life. I am
proud to be a
grandmother. Life is
wonderfully full.

I wish to honor the
memory of my second
child, Casey Nichole.
She was born in 1986
with a recessive
neurological disorder,
Werdnig-Hoffman, Spinal
Muscular Atrophy
(SMA) During the
year I was blessed to
share her life, she
taught me so much about
courage, faith, living
in the moment, and
enjoying the simple.
I have sincere
gratitude for Dr.
Hiroshi Mitsumoto.
My early SMS years,
under his care, were
instrumental in helping
me reach the place where
I am today. May
God bless the ALS, or
Lou Gehrig's disease,
research endeavors. I am
optimistic about the
current research studies
on Stiffman/Stiff Person
Syndrome.

Thank you, Dr.
Dalakas and Dr.
Rakocevic, for your
time, effort, and the
kindness you both have
shown me during my trips
to NIH. (National
Institutes of Health.)

I have a deep
appreciation for the SMS
support group. A
special thank you goes
to Carlos for his
expenditure of time
maintaining the email
list. Thank you to
those who share
experiences, triumphs,
and uplifts through your
email postings. You continually touch my
heart and inspire me.
For my friends,
cherished and close to
my heart, I thank you
for being just who you
are. Individually,
I have shared laughter,
tears, memories, and
love with each of you.
My life has been greatly
enriched by your
presence.
In loving remembrance
of those who have died
from Stiff Person Syndrome.
The flames of inspiration
and courage will burn
forever as memories in
my heart.
A
dedication to the memory
of Stephen
B. Hyde.

(Dedicated
to all my heroes.)
Wind
Beneath My Wings
Did
you ever know that
you're my hero,
and everything I would
like to be?
I can fly higher than an
eagle,
for you are the Wind
Beneath My Wings.
Bette
Midler

We
are, each of us angels
with only one wing; and
can only fly by
embracing one another...
