A RECIPE FOR SUCCESS

There are lots of places in life that can cause a man to stumble, but don't you ever  quit.  There are lots of points at which we feel we cannot go on, but don't you quit.  There are lots of sorrows that may force you to your knees, but don't you ever, ever, ever quit.  For every time you get up, you build character.  Every time you overcome, you attain inspiration and every time you start again, you are born anew.

The following is Abraham Lincoln's Recipe for Success:

1831 - Failed in business

1832 - Defeated for legislature

1833 - Second failure in business

1836 - Suffers nervous breakdown

1838 - Defeated for Speaker

1840 - Defeated for Elector

1843 - Defeated for Congress

1848 - Defeated for Congress

1855 - Defeated for Senate

1856 - Defeated for Vice-President

1858 - Defeated for Senate

1860 - Elected President

"He never quit."

History has demonstrated that the most notable winners usually encountered heartbreaking obstacles before they triumphed. They won because they refused to become discouraged by their defeats.
~Bertie C. Forbes~

Character cannot be developed in ease & quiet. Only through experience of trial & suffering can the soul be strengthened, ambition inspired & success achieved.
~Helen Keller~
