support group is a
private (membership by
request) email
discussion forum. The
list is comprised of
individuals diagnosed
with SPS (SMS), some who share
an interest in the
illness, and family
members seeking
solutions. Stiff
Person (Stiffman) Syndrome is an
extremely rare and
misunderstood illness.
Self-imposed isolation
can be a necessary
coping mechanism because
of stimulus-induced
symptoms. Sharing
syndrome experiences,
concerns, and feelings
with others who
understand can help
alleviate the loneliness
and fear. The group's
motto is "One day
at a time."
